Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo has announced that the Judicial commission of enquiry allegations of the State Capture will begin public hearings on the 20th of August.
Deputy Chief Justice made the announcement at a media briefing on Friday (27 July 2018) in Johannesburg.
The enquiry was appointed by our former President Jacob Zuma in January, just a year after the former public protector Thuli Madonsela released the State Capture report.
In the media briefing today Zondo said “the hearing will take no less than three weeks. There is a chance that it could take longer than that”
He continued by saying “The proceedings are not those of a court of law. This is not a litigation, it is an inquiry into allegations”
